RESIDENT AT BRASHEAR FOR 84 YEARS DIES -LUCIAN GARLOCK SUCCUMBS TO HEART AILMENT
Lucian Garlock, 84, a resident of Adair County since he was four months old, died at the family home in Brashear Sunday evening. He suffered a heart attack three weeks ago, prior to which he had been in fair health.
The funeral is to be held tomorrow at the Easley Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the Prairie Bird Cemetery. The body is lying in state at the funeral home. Mr. Garlock's nephews will be pallbearers.
Mr. Garlock was born July 16, 1855, near Glade Farms, Preston County, West Virginia, a son of Henry and Esther (Cuppett) Garlock. He was the youngest of a family of ten children and outlived all his brothers and sisters.
His parents moved to Missouri when he was four months old and settled in Kirksville, where they lived one year. Then his father entered land near Brashear and moved there, where Lucian lived until about twenty years ago, when he moved to town. He still owns eight acres of the old Garlock homestead.
He married Miss Rosetta Kelley on Nov. 10, 1900, and two daughters were born. Surviving are his widow, the daughters, Mrs. Alta Beason of Brashear, and Miss Hazel Garlock of the home. There is one granddaughter. The late Harrison Garlock of Brashear was a brother.
Mr. Garlock was a member of the Prairie Bird United Brethren Church.

Funeral services for Lucian Garlock, 84 of Brashear, who died Sunday, were held at the Easley Funeral Home in Brashear Tuesday morning.
Mr. Garlock had been a resident of Brashear and vicinity since four months old.
He was married to Miss Rosetta Kelley Nov. 10, 1900 and two daughters were born. Surviving are his widow, the daughters- Mrs. Beason of Brashear, and Miss Hazel Garlock of the home.
Mr. Garlock was an uncle of George Garlock of La Plata.
