Wilma I. Kane, age 84, of 151 Hoover St., Whitelaw, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, Aug. 13, 2009, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Wilma was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Elmer and Ella Korb Wolfmeyer Sr. She graduated from Brillion High School with the class of 1942 and attended Sheboygan Business College for one year. Wilma was employed from 1943 until 1950 in the office at Brillion Iron Works. She married Robert E. Kane on July 1, 1950, in Freedom, Wis. He preceded her in death May 25, 1995. The couple farmed at Maple Grove from 1960 until 1975 when they moved to Whitelaw. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Wilma was a dedicated member of TOPS of Manitowoc. She enjoyed reading, playing the organ, walking, watching soap operas, puzzles and babysitting. She also helped with meals for Lakeshore CAP at Whispering Pines Apartments in Whitelaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; two infant brothers: Elmer Wolfmeyer Jr. and Clinto Wolfmeyer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Naomi Wolfmeyer; Katherine (Adolph) Herold; Sister Frances Kane; William (Hilda) Kane, Henry Kane, John Kane and Urben Titulaer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw. The Rev. David Zimmerman will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. led by Deacon Tom Koch. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
