Phoebe Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry E. and Amelia Schlapp Claxton. Her father died sometime around the time of her birth and her mother remarried Milton E. Frazier and had another child. Elizabeth married Harry Bernard McCray on Feb. 7, 1900 in Butler, Bates Co., MO. They settled down in Kansas City, Mo. and raised two sons.
Phoebe's grandfather was Conrad Schlapp born in Germany and her grandmother was Anna unk. also born in Germany.
