On Sept. 3, 1922 she married Reinhard P. Kitzerow at St. John-St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1986. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Cato area until 1945 when they moved to Manitowoc.
