He was a retired truck driver for Wood Masonic, part-time driver for Mid America Auto Auction and Pastor Emeritus for Sun Valley Church of God In Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Knox Clay; daughter; Rhonda Simmons (Neil); two sons, Tony L. Clay (Gwen), Elder Adel Clay Jr.(Jane ); three siblings, Patricia Jones, Elder Elwood and Elbert Clay; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at A. D. Porter & Sons, 1300 W. Chestnut Street. Funeral is noon Saturday at Moore Temple Church of God in Christ, 2315 W. Broadway. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday in Calvary Cemetery.
