Floyd Ellen graduated from Dixon College, Dixon, Il then taught school for several years before her 1st marriage. After death of husband Charles Santee of TB, she went to Valdez, AK during gold rush years to live with 2 brothers. There she married prospector "Bert" Carvey. They prospected and mined gold at a number of sites for years before retiring to Washington State. After Bert's death she married Robert Bonney who was a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. They traveled around the country to attend military reunions and ceremonies.
