Alta

Frances Ann was born on February 11, 1933, to Francis E. (Bug) and Anna (Ankerson) Castle of Alta, Iowa. She graduated from Alta High School in 1951.

In 1955, she married Thomas S. (Pete) Peterson. Two children: daughter, Sande, and son, Tom, were born to their marriage.

Fran enjoyed much about her life, family and friends among the most important aspects. A self-taught wood carver, she also sewed Hardanger. Throughout her life, she also enjoyed golf and was always ready to challenge anyone to a match.

Together, Pete and Fran ran The Peterson Insurance Agency for many years. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling to Arizona during the winters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pete; her sister, Barbie; and sister-in-law, Eunice.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sande (Peterson) Rodemeyer, and her husband, Brian, of Algona, Iowa, and Tom Peterson, of Calsbad, California; two grandchildren, Abby Person, and her husband, Ryan, of North Liberty, Iowa, and Tim Rodemeyer, and wife, Molly, of Emmetsburg, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Sloan, and Cael; her brother, Willis "Buster" Castle, and his wife, Joy, of Roswell, New Mexico; and her brother-in-law, Les Watson, of Sherman, Texas; as well as many other family and friends.
