BERNARD ADAMS
Bernard Cecil Adams, 86, 1301 Walnut St., died at the Daviess Community Hospital Thursday at 6:45 p.m. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gill Chapel. Interment will be in the Sugarland Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday until service time.

He was born on Aug. 18, 1912, in Knox County, to Ira and Maude (Helderman) Adams. He married Ruby J. Oberst on April 3, 1936 and she survives. Adams, 1932 Wheatland High School graduate, was a retired farmer. He was a Antioch Christian Church member where he was a Deacon of the Church, Sunday school teacher, board member, Quartet member and Lamp Lighters Sunday school Class member. He had served in the U.S. Army from 1933 to 1936 as a radio operator.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Vera Sue Lett, Evansville; a son, William R. Adams, Wakarusa, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Blanche Reel, Monroe City and two brothers, James I. Adams, Monroe City and Gene Adams, Bruceville. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Antioch Christian Church. (June 10, 1999)
