Obituary

VIOLA HELEN HOVERMAN- 87 Years Old
Bom August 28, 1924 in Ticonic, Iowa
Passed July 17, 2012 in Azusa, California
Viola Hoverman was a strong, beautiful woman. She dedicated her life to her family and
to the Lord. She was a long time member of Grace Church in Glendora, CA.
Her joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved
to go camping and traveling in their motor home. She also loved to play cards and dice.
Her hobbies were decorating cakes and crocheting. She collected wind chimes and bells.
But her absolute biggest joy of all was loving and spoiling rotten her grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
She never drank or smoked a day in her life. She was a stubborn red headed Irish woman
that never had a problem telling you like it is. And if you didn't listen to her, she would
either shake her finger at you, or chase you with that wooden spoon. She loved you with
all her heart, and you could always feel and count on that love.
She married Kenneth Garrison on December 24, 1949 until his death on November 28,
1960. They had 5 children, one of which passed as an infant, Steven Garrison.
She married Edward Lewis Hoverman on September 2, 1961. They had two more sons
together. He was a wonderful father to all six of their children. They were married for 40
years before his passing on August 24, 2001.
She is survived by her children Bruce Hoverman of Lake Havasu, AZ; Kevin Hoverman
of Roseville, CA; Lila Hoverman of Azusa, CA; Jane and Adolph Collaso of Apple
Valley, CA; Jerry Hoverman of Hesperia, CA; and Edward Hoverman of CA.
She had 9 grandchildren: Gene, Bryan (Kellie), Katrina, Lindsay, Jerry, Nicole, Jessica,
Megan and Brandon. She also had 7 great grandchildren: Skyler, Makenna, Delaney,
Brayden, Kellen, Layla and Alivia.
She also had two "adopted" daughters: Ruth Harvey of Azusa, CA and Barbara Sellitto of
Covina, CA.
She was also a wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her cousins will miss her.
She lived in the same house in Azusa for 51 years. Her daughter Lila lived with her and
took very good care of her. She was surrounded by her loved ones and passed peacefully.
We will miss Mom, and her grandkids will miss their Grandma. We take comfort in
knowing that her pain is finally gone and she is with Dad in heaven.
