KAREN KOENIG

Karen Koenig, age 61, of N 613 County Highway Q in Bolt, entered into eternal rest early on Friday morning, Jan. 16, 2009, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Karen was born on April 3, 1947, in Manitowoc to Joseph and Rosemary (Schadeberg) Karman, and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Denmark High School, graduating with the class of 1965. Karen continued her education and graduated from the Accredited School of Cosmetology in Green Bay. She married Kenneth Koenig on Oct. 5, 1968, at St. Mary's Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. Karen owned and operated the Dial A Style Beauty and Tanning salons in both Mishicot and Francis Creek for many years. She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer, Nativity of the BVM Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. Karen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a great collector of teddy bears. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and visiting with her many customers.

Karen was preceded in death by her father: Joseph Karman; and by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Michael and Evelyn Koenig.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Two Rivers, with the Rev. William O'Brien officiating, with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State St., in Mishicot. There will be a 7:45 p.m. parish wake service on Sunday evening at the funeral home led by Father Bill. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2009, at the church, until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.

The Koenig family would like to express a very special thank you to everyone who helped at home, and to the entire staff of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, and the Home Care Health Services and Hospice for their very special love, care, and support shown to Karen and our family during her illness. Your kindness will always be remembered.
