Velma S. Drake, 92, of Vienna, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born in Beech, the daughter of the late Leonard and Flora Hackney Starcher. She attended Grace Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Drake of Vienna and Charles Drake of Princeton; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lessie Larch of Hometown and Bertie Beckett of Hurricane; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Drake, in 1985; five brothers; and two sisters.
Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with Pastor Todd Hill officiating. Burial was in Clover Cemetery, Roane County.
