Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church Chapel in Clovis.

The Rev. Robert A. English, 90, of Clovis, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

He was born on April 2, 1914, in Tarrant County, Texas, to John Robert and Lydia Coomer English.

He was a Methodist minister and served at Trinity Methodist in Clovis from 1957 to 1959. He also served at other Methodist Churches throughout New Mexico and Texas, including at Rosedale from 1943-1945, Ranchvale from 1947-1948, Melrose from 1968-1969, and Elida-Floyd from 1976-1978.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Hadis Lacy English of the Clovis; a son, John A. English (and wife, Jodie) of Santa Fe; a daughter, Mary H. Hilliard (John) of Haughton, La.; three sisters, Ruth Hornick of Houston, Mary Frances Sparger of Bedford, Texas, and Carrie Lou Nelson of Euless, Texas; three grandsons; a granddaughter; four great-grandsons; a step-grandson, Brian Gonzales of Santa Fe; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Evans of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four step-great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Ran Loy will officiate the services.

The family will receive friends at 1004 W. Kathie in Clovis.

Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.

Pallbearers are John, Richard, and Wayne Hilliard, Steven English and Brian Gonzales.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
