Lloyd D. Luce, age 91, a resident of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, died Sunday morning, March 22, 1998, at the Health Care Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 1998, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev.'s Bruce McKenney and Robert Kujawski with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
Lloyd was born August 27, 1906, in the township of Crow Wing, state of Minnesota, son of the late Willard and Sophia Lee Luce.
He married Louise Anna Byer on July 7, 1925, in LaCrosse, Wis. The couple resided in LaCrosse and Onalaska, Wis., prior to moving to Manitowoc in 1972.
Lloyd was employed with Gateway Transportation Company, LaCrosse, as a truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Louise one son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Carl) Luce, Hemet, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel (Ralph) Huebner, Manitowoc, Paula (Glenn) Sonnnenburg, rural Manitowoc; one son-in-law, Frank Rimmert, Stoughton, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Loraine; two brothers and six sisters.
Friends may call at Bethany Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
