Manitowoc, Wis. - Louise A. Luce, 96, a resident of Manitowoc Health Care Center, died early Thursday morning, April 29, 2004, at the center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Concelebrating at the service will be the Revs. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso; with entombment at Knollwood Memorial Park & Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
Louise was born Aug. 20, 1907, in Houston County, Minn., daughter of the late Emil and Mary Goede Byer.
On July 7, 1925, she married Lloyd D. Luce in La Crosse. The couple resided in La Crosse and Onalaska prior to moving to Manitowoc in 1972. Lloyd preceded her in death March 22, 1998.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carol Luce of Grandbury, Texas; two daughters and three sons-in-law, Rachel and Ralph Huebner of Manitowoc, Paula and Glenn Sonnenburg of rural Manitowoc and Frank (Barbara) Rimmert of Stoughton, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Loraine Rimmert; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Hazel and Si Dahle, Pauline and Alvin Fabian and Selma Byer.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials would be appreciated to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School. A very special thanks is extended to the thoughtful and caring staff at the Manitowoc Health Care Center. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
