She was born April 9, 1929 in Alhambra, a daughter of the late Henry and Flossie V. (Johnson) Lienemann.
She married Roy Henkhaus on May 2, 1948 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hamel. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2009.
Clara attended Rockwell School. She worked for 40 years in different grocery stores in Edwardsville, including Kroger, Tri City, Buchanan Street Market, Busy Bee, and retired from National as head cashier in 1985. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hamel, the St. Paul Lutheran Ladies' Aid and Prime Timers.
She was survived by two daughters, one daughter-in-law, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Terry L. Henkhaus on Aug. 24, 1985; one grandchild, Jennifer Willeford in November 1993; three brothers, Herman F. Lienemann, Elvin Lienemann and Henry Lienemann; and one sister, Dorine Luber.
