Marguerite M. Zagora 'Madge' Our Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother went to be with our Lord dying peacefully in her home on March 6, 2009. She was born July 29, 1912 in Shelbiana, Kentucky to William F. and Martha Marrs Morell. She was the loving wife of Edwin Joseph Zagora who died in 1993. Madge is survived by her son Mike Zagora and his wife Dianne of Charlotte, and by her daughter Lynn and husband Joel of Northville, Michigan. Madge loved and enjoyed her seven grandchildren Michael Zagora, Jr. and his wife Mary Katheryne, Scott Zagora and his wife Kim, Todd Zagora, Lee Harrington, Scott Harrington, Justin Bender and his wife Jodi, and Laura Bender. She also had the joy of having six great grandchildren: Anna and Grace Zagora, Austin and Tanner Zagora, and Dylan and Kyle Pepper. In her early years Madge was active in the Charlotte Charity League. Her volunteer work continued at Carolina Medical Center where she was a volunteer for forty years. She volunteered until recently at the Recreation Wing at Covenant Presbyterian Church where she was a member. Madge felt blessed to have good health which allowed her to live in her own home, drive, and garden until recently. She also found great enjoyment in her weekly bridge games at Myers Park Country Club where she was a long time member. Madge was an unassuming, generous, and gentle lady who will be missed by those who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Harry & Bryant Company, 'Chapel in the Oaks'. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1000 East Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC 28204. Harry & Bryant Company is serving the family.
