Frank McGranahan, age 85, died Wednesday, October 1 at the Osceola Community Hospital. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 4, at the United Methodist Church in Ocheyedan. The Rev. Harolds Butts officiated. Burial was in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery. Walton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Frank McGranahan, the son of John and Nancy Wagemont McGranahan, was born August 29, 1890, in Sheldon. On May 10, 1913, he married Charlotte Stewart in Sibley. McGranahan farmed and painted and was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; four sons, John of Round Lake, Ill.; Vincent of Redding, Calif.; Donald of Costa Mesa, Calif. and Daryl of Sanborn; two daughters; Vera (Mrs. Lee Spiegel) Harris, and Orma Jean (Mrs. Harold Wingate) Ocheyedan; nine grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Mae Merley of Sheldon.
Preceding him in death were three sons, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
