Robert Bauer, 50, Town of Herman farmer and former clerk of the Town of Meeme
in Manitowoc County, died at midnight Tuesday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital,
following a lengthy illness. A son of John and the late Bertha Bauer, he was
born in Sheboygan Falls, January 30, 1904. He attended rural schools in the
Town of Lyndon and high school at Waldo, being confirmed at the St. Thomas
Lutheran Church, Town of Lima. On April 14, 1928, Mr. Bauer married the former
Adeline Baars, following which the couple farmed in Lyndon four years, in Meeme
11 years and the last ten years in Herman. It was during the time Mr. Bauer
resided in Manitowoc County that he served as Meeme Town Clerk for eight years.
He was a member of St. James Reformed Church, Spring Valley.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Wilbert of the U.S. Marine Corps, now stationed
in California and Randall at home; one brother, William, Chicago and his father,
John Bauer, Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday at the St. James Reformed Church,
Spring Valley, with the Rev. Carl Schmahl, pastor, officiating. Burial will be
in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Walter H. Ahern Funeral Home, Howards Grove from 2 pm
Friday until 11 am Saturday and at the church from noon until the hour of
services.
