Funeral services for William J. Hammelman, who passed away at his home in Chicago April 1 at the age of 71, were held Thursday at the Evangelical and Reformed Church, town of Meeme. The Rev. Carl G. Schmahl officiated.
Mr. Hammelman was born in Germany in 1868, and came to this country when 15. He was a member of the Meeme church, which he helped to build in 1902.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth (nee Ohse); two daughters, Myrtle Lindblom and Alice Philips, and one son, Wilfred H. Hammelman.
