Mrs. Stella Schneider, 72, of Rt. 1, Newton, died early Friday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, of a lingering illness. She had been a hospital patient three weeks.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. James Evangelical and Reformed Church, Spring Valley. The Rev. Merlin Huebschmann will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Schneider was born Aug. 24, 1887, in the Town of Oshkosh, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Weidemann. Sep. 7, 1921, she was married to Albert W. Schneider at Oshkosh and they settled on the home farm at Rt. 1, Newton. The couple retired from farming in 1945 and moved to Kiel. Following the death of Mr. Schneider April 22, 1951, she returned to live at the farm home. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
Surviving are three sons, Norbert on the home farm, ADC Roland C., at the Olathe, Kan., Naval base, and Tech. Sgt Donald F., Chanute AFB Ill.; brother, Walter Weidemann of Oshkosh; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Perrin and Mrs. Henry Gumz of Oshkosh; and eight grand-children.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, ater 2 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday when the body will be moved to the church to lie in state from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
