He had suffered a stroke of apoplexy about a year and a half ago, but of late had been feeling fine and was able to get around. He had dinner with the family Friday noon and was as jolly as ever, but shortly after he got a weak spell, from which he died about an hour later.
The funeral was held Tuesday p.m. and interment will be in the Spring Valley cemetery.
Besides his wife, six children, Elizabeth, Matilda, Mrs. Aug. Langenhahn, Anton, Albert and Fred., survive him. He has also one brother, A. F. Schneider of Osman and one sister, Mrs. Mahnke of Manitowoc, still living.
