MANITOWOC—The body of a 74-year-old Osman farmer who disappeared nearly five months ago was found Thursday afternoon only a short distance from his home, entangled in a barbed-wire fence.

It was identified as that of John Schwartz, who walked out of his home the night of Dec. 5, 1952, and hadn't been seen since.

Discovery was made by a neighboring farmer, Robert Henekel, as he was plowing a field.
The body, in an advanced state of decomposition, was tangled in the wire strands of the fence, about a city block from the town road on which the Schwartz farm is located.

(snip - son asked for and was given lie detector test and passed, wanted cleared of any suspicions)

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ballhorn Funeral Home, Sheboygan, and burial will be in the St. James Cemetery in the town of Meeme.
