Irene K. Meyer, age 90, a resident of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at the center.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2001 at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum. Officiating at the memorial service will be Deacon Paul Kieffer with entombment of the cremated remains at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
She was born June 13, 1910, in Reedsville, daughter of the late John and Ida Dietrich Einberger. Irene graduated from the Wisconsin School of the Deaf in Delavan as Secretary of her senior class in 1931.
On April 19, 1950, she married Clifford Meyer at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Irene was employed for many years with the Mirro Company until her retirement.
She was an active member of the deaf community of Pope John in Green Bay and served as their secretary for many years. She was also a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church.
Survivors include a special friend, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Robert Einberger and a sister, Marian Barr.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
