Jane Mushel, aged 80, Lake Geneva, formerly of Manitowoc, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Arbor Village.

She was born June 7, 1926, in Two Rivers, the daughter of the late Simon and Martha Rysticken Lesperance. Jane was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School.

On July 19, 1947, she married John A. Mushel. He preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1991.

Jane was the deputy county clerk for Manitowoc County. She retired in 1986. Jane also was a former member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, and a member of St. Francis de Sales, Lake Geneva.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Mary Mushel, Bloomfield Township; four grandchildren, Sara Mushel, Tim Mushel, Greg (Ruth) Mushel and Jamie Leska; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brett and Masahiro; a brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Fralla Lesperance, Lake Placid, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Norman O'Leske, Manitowoc; and two sisters-in-law, Eleanore Doncheck, Manitowoc, and Dolores Halada, Two Rivers. Jane also is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel, Kossuth Township. The Rev. Jim Vanden Hogen officiated, entombment followed at Knollwood Mausoleum.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
