John David "J.D." Arnette, 84, passed away March 15, 2013, at Southeastern Health of Lumberton. He was born on June 21, 1928, in Robeson County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Arnette and Vivian Bass-Arnette; a granddaughter, Nichole Lee; and a sister, Burnelle Rogers (Find A Grave Memorial# 92161754).

Arnette is survived by his wife, Dora Ivey Arnette of the home; his daughter, Anita Arnette Thompson and husband Archie of Fairmont; two brothers, Kelton Arnette of Fairmont and Bill Arnette of Hamer, S.C.; a sister, Lucille Huggins of Darlington, S.C.; two grandchildren, David Adams and wife Kim and Richie Adams and wife Angie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at Oakdale Baptist Church in Fairmont, the Rev. Jackie Spillers officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery of Fairmont. On-line condolences may be made by visiting: www.floydmortuary.net.
