DIES SATURDAY AT FARM HOME

Services For Thomas Ryan (sic) To Be Conducted Tuesday

Thomas G. Ryen, 78, died Saturday afternoon at his farm home in the town of Cato. He had been ailing for some time.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at two o'clock from the Gjerpen Lutheran church. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Ryen was born in the town of Gibson June 5, 1857. His mother died when he was 8 years of age and he was adopted by Inger and Ole Larson-Ballestad, who owned a farm in the town of Cato.

He was married to Tilda Louisa Anderson March 6, 1884. For ten years, the couple lived on the Larsen-Ballestad farm and then they took up the farm on which Mr. Ryen died. Mrs. Ryen died in 1933.

One of his two daughters, Josephine, died last year.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William Diegel of this city; two sons, Oliver and Chester, both at home; and five grandchildren.

The body was taken to the home late today from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home.
