Harriette A. Neuser, age 86, of 1219 N. 9th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 1996, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Revs. Robert Sullivan and Robert Simensen with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

The former Harriette Steinberg was born January 4, 1910, in Frankfort, Mich., daughter of the late Edward and Mayme Raymond Steinberg. She attended grade school and high school in Frankfort and also attended the Manitowoc Business College.

On September 23, 1933, she married Gilbert (Gil) Neuser in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death March 26, 1996. In 1946, the couple opened Gil's Sporting Goods Store in Two Rivers and operated the store for 29 ½ years until their retirement in 1975. The couple would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in September of 1996.

Survivors include one sister, Evelyn Gehrke, Manitowoc; one brother, Nelson (Newt) Steinberg, Pleasanton, Calif. Also surviving are many niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, John, Peter, Raymond, Eugene, and Donald Steinberg, and two sisters, Marie Settles and MaeBelle Logan.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. this Friday (TODAY) and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.

Today you and Gil will be reunited together forever. Thou (sic) we will mourn your passing; you and Gil will always be in our hearts. Their marriage was such a oneness between them that when one weeped (sic) the other tasted salt.
