Roy A. Newlin, age 76, of 2140 S. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, October 15, 1992, at the Heritage Nursing Center, Sheboygan.
He was born July 16, 1916, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Ellen (née Johnson) Newlin.
Roy was a Sergeant of World War II, serving with the United States Army Air Corps in various administrative assignments in the Aleutians from January 12, 1942 until October 31, 1945.
He married the former Jane Specht on February 25, 1950, at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on September 12, 1989.
Roy attended Manitowoc schools and was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1934. Mr. Newlin began Postal Service on March 1, 1937, where he became a regular clerk in the Manitowoc Post Office late in 1945. Subsequently advancing to Foreman of Mails, Assistant Superintendent of Mails, and from June 26, 1973, until his retirement in 1974 as Officer in Charge of the Manitowoc Post Office. He was very active in the First Baptist Church, Manitowoc, and served as Deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Newlin was a lifetime member of the VFW Otto Oas Post No. 659, and the American Legion Drews Bleser Post No. 88.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at the church from 10 am. Until the time of service at 11 am. Military Services will be accorded at the Mausoleum by the VFW Post 659. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church, Manitowoc, with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.
