Martha Shrimpton, 94, Villisca, was born Jan. 1, 1901, in New Market to Alexander and Johanna Smith Rhoades. She died Aug. 23, 1995, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.

She married Rossell Shrimpton who preceded her in death in May of 1953. Mrs. Shrimpton retired as a nurses aid from MHI in Clarinda in 1962.

She is survived by her daughters Norma (husband Don) Scanlan, Nodaway, Lois (husband Harol) Gatewood, Clinton, Okla., Patricia (husband Donovan) Warnaca of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter-in-law Virginia Shrimpton, Plattsmouth, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sons Wayne and Leo.

Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca with the Rev. Albert Baker officiating. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery.

Memorials are directed to the VFW or Avenue of Flags.
