Note from Genealogy of Charles Angel Sr.: pioneer of Frederick County Maryland (found on Ancestry.com): Fred, a rugged and powerful man, was born and raised on a farm in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, near Ragersville. He taught school for some time and sold life insurance as a side line, but finally decided to spend his life as a farmer. He and Amelia were married in 1893 and established their home in a log house on a farm they aquired in Perry Township, Tuscarawas County, several miles west of Tippecanoe. Here their children were born and grew to maturity, helped to develop the farm and construct a new house and barn. Frederick is a grandson of Andress Anderegg and Magdalene Otth, both born in Meiringen, Switzerland, where Frederick’s father, Peter, was also born. His mother, Magdalene Wyler, was born near Ragersville, Ohio. A book entitled “The Anderegg Family”, written by Caroline Rausch Snyder of 222 Seventh Street, North Canton, Ohio, in May 1942, records the genealogy of this family. Amelia was born in Tuscarawas County on her father’s farm located two and a half miles northwest of Stonecreek village. Here she attended the nearby country school named for her family and grew to womanhood, learning the requirements of a farmer’s wife. In February 1889 she moved to the village of Stonecreek with her parents, who were retiring from the farm. Here Amelia worked as a saleslady in the general store of her brother-in-law, Daniel Gruber, until her marriage. The writer recalls visits to their home when he was a boy, once having ridden there on a bicycle. Uncle Fred was a good scout and any boy would enjoy being with him on an excursion into one of the nearby ravines to hunt geological specimans.
