Roscoe "Rocky" Shadwell , 61, of 106 South Long Street in Effingham, Illinois died at 7:15 a.m. July 23, 1964 at Saint Anthony Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for 19 days.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at Johnson funeral Home. Burial will be in Arborcrest Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today.

Mattoon ritual staff will hold Moose memorial rites at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Charlie.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; stepsons, Franklin Doty of Decatur and Ronnie Doty of Coal City; three grandchildren; brothers, Louis, Clarence and Fred.

"Rocky" was manager of the Moose Club in Effingham. He was a World War II Veteran.

He was born September 15, 1907, a son of Louis Sr. and Mary (Arnold) Shadwell He married Ruth Doty on February 6, 1960.
