He was an Army veteran and had proudly served his country during World War II. William worked for several years at Maul Technology and retired in 1986. William loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and traveling. He was adored by his family.
He is predeceased by his grandson, Jerry Abbott.
William is survived by his wife of 68 years, Henrietta Parvin Abbott; one daughter, Norma DiBiaso and her husband Joe; three sons, Jerry T. Abbott and his wife Darlene, James W. Abbott and his wife Marlene, and Scott W. Abbott and his wife Julie; one sister, Jean Chew; six grandchildren, Brian Abbott, Dewey Sutton, Vicki Sutton, Tyler Abbott, Lindsay Abbott and Cynthia Abbott-Gaffney; and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend William's funeral service at the Barr Funeral Home, 2104 E. Main St., Millville, where there will be a viewing. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
