Dorothy Louise Leshe, 94, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, in a local care center.

She was a native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1947. Dorothy was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. She was a registered nurse and had worked at Christus St. Patrick Hospital and also P.P.G. plant. She was a very active member of Maplewood First Baptist Church, having served as past Choir Director, she taught Sunday school, played the piano and handbells, and taught piano lessons, worked with the children's ministry, and was a member of W.M.U. She was a member of the Sulphur Garden Club and a local supper club. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and camping with her family, crocheting, knitting, painting, and playing piano for the resident of High Hope Care Center. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Survivors include her daughter, Dena Dore' and husband, Wayne of Sulphur; her sister, Marjorie Bachemin of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Amanda Elizabeth Dore' and Josh Ellis Dore' and wife, Kristen; and two nieces, Judy Hough and husband, Jim of San Antonio, Texas, and Barbara Johnson of Waco, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Leshe; and her brother, James C. Kocher.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Dr. Ronnie Burke will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Maplewood First Baptist Church or The American Heart Association.
