James "Moldy" Moldenhauer, 65, of 4314 Custer Lane, Manitowoc, died on Sept. 15, 2012 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center where he had been living for the past week. The funeral will be at 11 am Thursday at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home in Manitowoc with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating. Cremation will follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Visitation was set at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 pm to 7 pm and on Thursday at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am.

Moldy was born on March 7, 1947 in Manitowoc, son of Jermaine Streich Moldenhauer and the late James A. Moldenhauer. He was a 1966 graduate of Manitowoc Linocln High School. He was employed with Manitowoc Ice from 1973 to 2007. Moldy was well known for food catering in the Manitowoc area and also for cooking at the Chief's Club for the Friday night fish fries. On June 22, 1968 he married Barbara Wagner at St. Mary's Catholic church in Manitowoc. Moldy was a member of the Manitowoc Chief's Club for more than 30 years and also a member of Van's Athletic Club. He enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara; four children and their spouses, Jamie and Kristopher Hansen of Manitowoc; Brent Moldenhauer of Green Bay; Travis and Anna Moldenhauer of Chicago and Lyndzee and Dan Schaus of Manitowoc; his mother, Jermaine Moldenhauer of Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren, Jesse and Katie Hansen, Tyler Hansen, Fallon Hansen, Brandon Hansen, Miranda Hansen, Lakyn Moldenhuer, Zoe Moldenhauer, Fischer Schaus and Gauge Schaus. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, Alexis Hansen, Jacob Hansen, Anna Hansen, Mason Hansen and Camden Hansen; one brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Char Moldenhauer of Valders; one sister and brother-in-law, Jerilyn and Charles Koch of Manitowoc and nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Moldenhauer, step father, Mason Ashford and one grandson, Owen Leonard Moldenhauer. Memorials would be appreciated in Moldy's name to the Lakeshore Humane Society.
