Andrew Marshall Abdon, 25, of Greenup, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Andrew was born April 18, 1987, in Ashland, a son of Marshall E. and Teresa J. Quillen Abdon of Lloyd. As a young boy, Andrew made a profession of faith and lived his life sharing and thinking of others. Also as a young boy he loved to farm in his sandbox in the back yard in Lloyd, where he grew up. He was a 2005 graduate of Greenup County High School, where he was on the golf team. As a grown man, Andrew had his own farm on Little White Oak where he loved to spend time working. Throughout his life, Andrew worked for AK Steel as an end-loader operator in the blast furnace department. He also owned his own business, Little White Oak Hardwood and Excavating, in which he took great pride. He loved to race four-wheelers and lawn mowers. Andrew most loved spending time with his family. He truly had a heart of gold and dedicated his life to helping his family, friends and everyone he met. Andrew was a man to look up to. He was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him. He is also survived by two sisters, Michelle Light and her husband, Scott, of Russell and Lynette Rulen and her husband, Jason of Flatwoods, two nephews, Jake Light and Judd Light of Russell, a niece, Allison Rulen of Flatwoods, and several aunts and uncles who loved him dearly. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, by Pastor Jack McCleese. Burial will be in D.C. Quillen Cemetery at York. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Chad Quillen, Randy Quillen, Mark Quillen, Jake Light, Judd Light, Anthony Mabry, Joey Conley and Dagon Abdon.
