Wesley Willis Bigham was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Gold Hill and raised in Milwaukie. He served for 10 years in the Navy, including during World War II in the South Pacific. He owned an Arco service station for 20 years and then was a carpentry foreman for Benjamin Franklin Savings and Loan, where he worked for about 20 years. In 1942, he married Joan Monckton.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Wesley and Joel; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. His daughter Joan B. Johnson died in 1993.
