JAMES MARLBOROUGH

James W. Marlborough, 70, a native of the county, died Friday night at Riverview
hospital, Wisconsin Rapids, where he had been a patient one week.
Mr. Marlborough, who is superintendent of erection for the Wisconsin Bridge and
Iron company, Milwaukee, was at Wisconsin Rapids to repair a bridge which he
supervised erection of 40 years ago. He had been on this wowrk the past two months.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Marlborough home,
Whitelaw and at 9:30 from the St. Michael's church, Whitelaw. Burial will be in the
adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Marlborough was born in Whitelaw in 1867 and when a young man entered the
employ of the Wiscosnin Bridge and Iron company. He was with the company 51
years. He organized and headed the Square Deal Oil company, which operates
stations in this city.
He belonged to the Clinton, Iowa, council Knights of Columbus, being a 25-year
member. He was also a member of the Cato Catholic Order of Foresters.
Suvivors are a daughter, Mrs. Jerome Martin, Whitelaw; three brothers, George,
Cato, Patrick and Peter, Whitelaw; three sisters, Mary and Nell, Whitelaw; Mrs.
Anna Halloran, Chicago.
The body may be viewed at the Pfeffer funeral home tonight after seven o'clock
and will be moved to Whitelaw Sunday morning.
