H. BETTS DIES IN FLORIDA
MONTGOMERY -- Hoy M. Betts, 83, a retired mail carrier who had been with the Montgomery Post Office for 32 years, died Monday morning in Lakeland, Fla. where he and his wife had made their home for the last few years.
Mr. Betts was born in Kansas Aug. 7. 1889.
He was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Lakeland and a life member and twice worshipful master of the Camden Lodge No. 245, F & AM.
He leaves his widow, the former Edith Kopp and three sisters: Carolyn Hoolihan of Washington, D.C.; and Amy and Gladys Betts, both of Dearborn.
There is also a brother, John, of Santa Anna, Calif., who survives as well as three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn.
The funeral service is scheduled for Thrudday at 2 p.m. in the St John Funeral Home, Camden with the Rev. Richard-Muskey officiating.
Burial will be in Berg Cemetery, Montgomery.
There is to be a visitation Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 7 to 9.
