Dr. William J. Easley, 83 years old a practicing physician for more than 55 years, died in the home of his daughter,Mrs. W.D. Scherer, 1935 N. Union street Sunday night at 9:45 o'clock. Death was caused by a complication of diseases. There having been no physician in attendance for more than a month,Coroner T.C. Buxton held an inquest over the body last evening to conform with the state law.
Mr. Shcerer, son-in-law of the aged physician and with whom he has been making his home for the last four years told how he had been bed fast since June 10. Two prominent physicians were called to attend the aged the aged man, but they pronounced the case chronic. On account of the advanced age they said it would be useless to administer any medical treatment. Neighbors were called to the bedside shortly before 9 o'clock and with the family witnessed his passing
