Mrs. Berneice Roubal, age 75, formerly of 925 S. 25th St., Manitowoc, and currently a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, died on Friday evening, Nov. 28, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
The former Berneice Funk was born on April 5, 1933, at Cedar Lake, Barron County, daughter of the late Harm and Estella (Kimberk) Funk. She grew up in Mikana, and graduated in 1951 from Rice Lake High School. On June 11, 1955, Berneice was married to Ernest Roubal at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedar Lake. The couple lived in Manitowoc, and later owned a farm on County Line Road LS, which they ran for a number of years. Berneice had also worked other jobs, the longest at the Mirro Aluminum Company. The couple then moved to Thorp, where they bought another farm, which they later retired from. Berneice was a member of First Lutheran Church, AMVETS Post 99 Auxilliary, and she also volunteered at Peter's Pantry. Berneice enjoyed working in her flower garden, quilting, stamp collecting and birdwatching.

Berneice was preceded in death by two sisters: Phyllis Ewen Buergi; and her twin, Clarice Everson and two brothers-in-law: Allen Ewen; and Carl Buergi.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel, 1500 Highway 310, Manitowoc. The Rev. Marcia Solberg will officiate with entombment of her cremated remains in the Knollwood Mausoleum.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at the Mausoleum Chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is serving the family.
Another precious soul has winged her way to heaven; another child of God has been called back home.
