Dwight Welch Passes Away at Kanawha
Former Land Owner and Farmer In This Vicinity
World was received by Hon T.C. Cessna of Grinnell that his old time friend and business associate, Dwight Welch had passed away at his home at Kanawha, Iowa, Tuesday of this week.
Mr. Welch formerly resided north of Grinnell on the old Alonzo Steele farm, more recently known as the Will Sanders farm, where Joe W. Lacina now lives. That was his home for probably 25 years. He at one time owned the old James Rule farm where he conducted farming operations for several years. He and Mr. Cassna went down to Missouri at one time and bought a big tract of land and later Mr. Welch purchased the interest of Mr. Cessna. He remained in Missouri about three years, then returned to to Grinnell lived here something like a year before he went to Kanawha where he resided at the time of his death.
Mrs. Welch who will be remembered here as Miss McCoy, a sister of Eugene McCoy, and one son, survive him.
Dwight Welch was born in Henry, Marshall, Illinois. He was the son of Rezin and Martha (Crouch) Welch
