Leota A. Lambert of El Reno died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Grace Living Center. She was born Oct. 22, 1913, in Byers, Kan., to Oliver Leonard and Jennie Elizabeth (King) Swafford. Leota grew up and attended school in Byers and was a graduate of Byers High School. She was a former resident of Pratt, Kan., and lived most of her life in Liberal, Kan. Leota was a member of the Quaker Friends Church in Liberal. She moved to El Reno on Dec. 20, 1993.
Leota was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Ivan Lambert; her son, William L. "Bill" Lambert; sisters, Elsie M. Riney and her twin, Leona E. Schell; and twin brothers, Melton and Melvin Swafford.
Survivors include her children, Linda Welliver and husband, Wayne, Terri Littler and husband, Bob, and Ozella Chadwick, all of El Reno; sister, Loris Swafford Banker and husband, Alfred Gene of Lawrence, Kan.; grandchildren, Wayne Welliver and wife, Betty of Oklahoma City, Gayla Lynn Shive and husband, Craig of Prague, and Denise Bomberger and husband, Roy of Texas; great-grandchildren, Thomas E. and Dyland Baeriswyl, Daniel and Cleasha Baeriswyl, Matthew Baeriswyl, Landry Shive, David Littler, Dylan Bomberger, Wyatt Bomberger, Joshua and Jenny Welliver, Leslie Dawn Welliver, Krystal Littler and Daisy Littler; great-great-grandchildren, Thomas E. Baeriswyl III, Gavin E. Baeriswyl and Elisha David Welliver; her special nieces and nephews, Richard and Paulette Schell, Donnie and Karen Schell, Dale and Loraine Schell, Steve and Laura Banker, Connie Drake, Trisha and Eldon Rhumbaugh and Sherry Banker; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 2 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Rose officiating. Graveside services were held in the Liberal Municipal Cemetery in Liberal, Kan. Services were under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
