Rachel Pernosky went missing from her home in Mission, British Columbia, Canada. Her body was found in 43400-block Old Orchard Road on Chilliwack Mountain. It is most likely Rachel was murdered. She was only 18.
An on-line Facebook page was set up in light of her disappearance. Accordingly to those who knew her, she was an avid user of various social media websites. When she wasn't on-line, others became worried that something might be wrong.

A candlelit vigil was held at Heritage Park where over three hundred people attended to remember to Rachel on the 21st March 2013.
