Mr. Stanley ''Jim'' Penny, 69, of Gulfport died Thursday, January 14, 1999, in Gulfport. Mr. Penny was born in Pomona, Missouri and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1968. He was a member of the Lutheran faith. Mr. Penny retired from the U.S. Navy in 1968, after over 20 years of service. He was also retired from Gayfers. He was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Penny of Gulfport; a daughter, Karen Penny of Dublin, Ga.; three sons, Michael James Penny of Omaha, Neb., Shawn Scott Penny and Steven Mitchell Penny, both of Gulfport; a sister, Nina Wells of Las Cruces, N.M.; a brother, William Penny of Decatur, Ill.; and two grandsons, Christopher Gene Penny of Omaha and Colby Mitchell Penny of Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel in Gulfport, where friends may call two hours before the service. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Biloxi National Cemetery.
