Martha Faye Douglas, daughter of William and Winifred (Wilson) Anderson, was born October 20, 1906 in Burwell. She died at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. She grew up in Burwell and graduated from Burwell High School.On June 3, 1924 she married William (Bill) Douglas at Burwell. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1976.After the marriage they operated the Kildow Market in North Loup until the moved to Aurora in 1928 where they operated grocery stores. In 1934 the opened the Douglas Grocery and Market.In their early years, Faye and Bill both learned to fly and land planes. She later became an avid bridge player. After Bill was paralyzed from an accident, she cared for him at home for seven and one-half years, unitl his death.She was a member of the Aurora Presbyterian United Church Of Christ where she sang in the church choir many years. She was also a past president of Chapter A of P.E.O. sisterhood.The family home was always open to relatives and friends and there was always room for one more at the table where many good times were shared.Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Coleman and Husband Bob of Spartanburg, S.C. and three grandsons.
