Mary Emmaline was the daughter of Hugh Northern and Ruth Ethel (Irwin) Enyeart.

She married Kenneth Ridlon on 12 October 1941 in Wabash, Wabash County, Indiana. They were the parents of one daughter, Rebcca Jane.

Former Wabash County Recorder Mary Emmaline Schaefer, 79, 10 Westeria Drive, North Manchester, died at 8:40 p. m. Saturday, October 7, 1995, at the Peabody Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Schaefer served as the recorder from 1979 to 1986.
"It really saddens me to hear the news. I've known her all my life," County Deputy Recorder Carol Stafanatos said of Mrs. Schaefer. "Her daughter, Becky, and I went to school together."

"Emma hired me into the recorder's office when she took office in 1979. She trained me and taught me in the job. I became her deputy and when her eight years were up, I ran for the office. I always enjoyed working with her."

Mrs. Schaefer first married Kenneth Ridlon on October 12, 1941. He died in June 1978. She then married Bert Schaefer on July 3, 1982. He survives.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the P. E. O. Sisterhood.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. David (Rebecca) Laudicina, Hillsborough, North Carolina; one step-daughter, Mrs. Vaughn (Sandra Ann) Link, Pittsford, New York; one sister, Mrs. James Robert (Jane) Howenstein, Lansing, Michigan; one granddaughter; and one step-granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Main Street Chaple, Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service. The Revs. Don Crabill and Robert Schmeiser will officiate. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory cemetery, Marion.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p. m. today at the Main Street Chapel, Grandstaff- Hentgen Funeral Service.

Preferred memorials are to Christ United Methodist Church.
