Stanley P. Welch, 65, of Roselle, father of Stanley J. Welch of 421 Downer Street and a sheet metal worker at the General Aniline & Film Corp., Linden, died Monday at Alexian Brothers Hospital, Elizabeth, after a long illness.
Mr. Welch was born in Westield and had lived in Roselle 22 years. He had worked at the Linden Aniline works nine years and as a member of its Local 146, AFL. He had been a corporal in Co. K. Second Regiment of the NJ National Guard for four years.
He is survived by three sons, Charles of Panama and James and Donald of Roselle; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Victor Linch of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and a brother, Everett L. Welch of 418 Central Avenue.
Funeral services will be held today at 8:30 a.m. at the Prail Funeral Home, Roselle. A solemn high mass of requiem will follow in St. Joseph's Church, Roselle. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Plainfield.
