Kate Hulse, daughter of Capt. A. C. and Martha A. Hulse, was born in Palmyra, May 15, 1859, and passed away at her home in Waverly, Saturday, April 26, 1924, at 3:30 a.m., aged 64 years, 11 months and 11 days.
She was united in marriage with Elijah Etter at the Christian church in Palmyra, December 25, 1878. To this union was born one son, Robert.
The first year of their married life was spent in Palmyra after which they moved to the Etter farm south of Palmyra. In 1882 they moved to Carlinville, where they remained until 1886, when they again moved back to the Etter farm. On February 6, 1894 they moved to Waverly, where they have since lived at the same residence. For the past several years Mrs. Etter has been an invalid.
She is survived by her husband and son, Robert; one brother, Robert S. Hulse of Riverside, Okkla.; three nephews, William M. Hulse of Carlinville, Harry Hulse of Colorado, and Lee Hulse of Clear Lake, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William R. Hulse and one sister, Rosella Davis, of Salem, Oregon.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Monday afternoon, at 1:30, in charge of Rev. James N. Thomas. Interment was in East cemetery.
