Frank was the son of Carl and Dorothea Dalp Weck. He came here with his mother in Oct. 1848 after the death of his father. He first lived in Galena, Ill. and started studying to be a druggest. He learned part of his trade from his brother-in-law Valentine Boller. He moved on to Clayton Co., IA. as did Valentine. He later moved on to Eureka, CA. where he went into the pharmacy business and became very well known for his skills. He eventually bought out his partner's half of the pharmacy and went into business for himself. On Sept. 5, 1865 he married Laura Maria Kelcher in Eureka. They had 4 children Mary D., Bertha, Charles Albert, and Alice Maud that survived to adulthood. They had two children Laura Almira and Florence that died in infancy.
Frank later sold his business and moved to San Francisco where he had some other business ventures. His business was wiped out when the San Francisco earthquake happened. There is quite a bit more information on Frank on google.
