Ruth McLaine died at the age of 103.

Ruth enjoyed her five years spent here in St. Johnsbury. She lived with her daughter Susan Cherry and husband Martin at their home off Main St where she greatly enjoyed taking walks and enjoying all the gardens and trees and beautiful homes. Ruth also enjoyed reading and picking books out at the Athenaeum and doing word puzzles. Always one who enjoyed her travels throughout her life, a special day here was spent going on long rides thru Franconia Notch and seeing the mountains.

In addition to raising her family in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Annapolis, Maryland, Ruth was very active in church and civic organizations and was an accomplished amateur artist. She served as president of the Pittsburgh PTA and YWCA.

Ruth is survived by five of her six children, 24 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
